The 108-foot-tall "Statue of Prosperity" is unveiled by PM Modi at B'luru

Bengaluru (The Hawk): The 108-foot-tall bronze statue of Bengaluru's founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, known as the "Statue of Prosperity," was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday on the grounds of the Bengaluru International Airport.

It was constructed to honour Kempegowda's contribution to the growth of the city.

The Prime Minister sprinkled holy water on the Kempegowda statue's feet when it was unveiled. According to Karnataka Higher Education Minister Ashwathnarayan, no other airport in the world has a statue of its founder that is as tall as this one, which qualifies as a record in the World Book of Records.

A 23-acre theme park and the Kempegowda statue were constructed as part of the project, which cost about Rs 84 crore.
